Who doesn’t love chocolate? These cannabis chocolates are divine. The key is to use dark cocoa. The bitterness plays well with the cannabis flavor. You can adjust the levels of dark and regular cocoa to your liking.
Use a double boiler, pyrex bowl over a pot, hot plate, etc. to melt the ingredients. Any indirect heat may be used for the melting process.
Yield: 30 candies (depending on size)
Time: 15 minutes (plus cool time)
1 cup cannabis coconut oil
1/2 cup cocoa powder
1/2 cup dark cocoa powder
1/4 cup honey
1 teaspoon of vanilla
Dash of coarse/sea salt
- Melt cannabis coconut oil in a double boiler
- Add the remaining ingredients and mix thoroughly
- Temper mixture to desired consistency; ensure to not exceed 120F
- When chocolate is mixed completely, remove from the heat source and pour into candy molds
- Keep cool
Using candy molds makes it very easy. You can also use ice cube trays, mini muffin pans, etc. After they have cooled and hardened, these chocolates melt very easily. So be cautious of them and heat. You can store in airtight containers or bags in the refrigerator.
I prefer to also add a dash of cayenne pepper to the mixture. Kicks it up a notch! Feel free to infuse your chocolate with nuts, flavoring, spices, dried fruits, etc. The possibilities are endless.
You can dip Cannabis Infused Caramels into the chocolate before it hardens. Give yourself a double dose!
